SKU: N/A Category:

The wine exhibits a bouquet of lifted blackcurrant, red currant and Satsuma plum, with bramble notes and hints of coffee bean oak. With the palate showing intense briary blackberry, mulberry and spicy plum, enhanced by traces of quince, red capsicum and subtle cedary oak.

I tasted this wine on the 3rd of January 2021. I find this line of red wines to be entirely entertaining and would like to share my attempt at some tasting notes as a review.

Visually this wine presents with a medium ruby hue.

The aromas this wine offered were of pronounced blackcurrants, red plum, capsicum and an aroma I call “fresh cut vegetation.” Following that there were aromas of cigar box, bitter dark chocolate and a slight dried coconut as well. There were tertiary aromas I detected, those being slight dried raisins along with slight wet leaves.

On the palate, this wine was a full bodied, dry wine, with medium plus acidity and medium tannins.

I found this wine to be balanced overall as the fruit didn’t appear to be overpowered by the tannins and acidity or any other influences in the winemaking process. Those previously mentioned “vegetal” flavours were again present on the palate along with dark fruit flavours; tart blackberry, blueberry and a spiced, slightly stewed raisins.

This wine offered a medium plus finish on the palate.
